A Prayer about Restored Fortunes

Heavenly Father,

It might be today. 

It might be tomorrow. 

It might be next year. 

It might take longer. 

But all of us will one day have our mouths 

filled with laughter 

and our tongues wagging with shouts of joy (Psalm 126:2).

You have already returned us to yourself 

through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, 

but one day, you will finish restoring our fortunes. 

In that day, you will free us forever from captivity to sin; 

You will restore us to yourself fully and forever. 

We will laugh and hug and dance 

and work and praise you 

as you always planned for us to do.

Encourage our hearts today 

with a lovely vision of that day.
